Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am not quite sure...

Do not think long - just contact me for our First Free “Meet and Greet” Meeting to discuss your musical goals, my teaching approach and all the questions you may have.

  • I need an accompanist.

I am experienced playing with a variaty of instruments and can play with you or with your child in the exam in the concert.

  • How old may I be to start playing the piano?

If you are aiming a professional carrier as a pianist, you better start between the age of five and ten years.

But it does not mean that you can not start as an adult - and have a lot of fun learning an instrument and challenging yourself in a new, creative direction. I do have experience with beginners from five to eighty years old.

Teaching kids under five years must be thought very carefully. Please, contact me if you are not sure what to do with your "little Mozart" - I hope to give you the right advice!

  • How long does one lesson last?

Please notice that 30 minutes lessons once a week are possible only for beginners till the age of 8.

Pupils who are older then 8 or pupils who approach their Grade 1 exam are strongly advised to take 45 or 60 minutes lessons.

According to my experience I would suggest the following:

5-7 years or Beginner-Grade 1: 30 min up to 3 times a week,

8-13 years: 45 min up to 3 times a week,

from 14 years: 60 min as often as you want

  • How are the prices?
Please, contact me for the current fees.

  • Where do you teach?

I teach in Exeter, Exwick, EX42AA. It is just couple of minutes from the St David's Station and the river Exe. There is a small pay and display parking close to the river and free parking is also available in the nearby streets.

  • Do I need to pay the missed lessons?

If you tell me at least 24 hours in advance, missed lessons do not need to be payed.

  • Do you teach on weekends?

Yes, I can offer lessons on Sunday.

  • Do I really need a piano at my place?

You need to have a regular access to a piano for practicing. At the beginning an old/ used/ inexpensive piano or digital piano would also do the job.

  • Can I also have my lessons in Russian or German?

Yes, you can! I speak four languages (English, Russian, German and Italian) - so you can choose the language in which you prefer to learn!
